At 91影视, we have long understood the importance of supporting the well-being of our employees so that they can bring their best selves to everything they do 鈥 personally and professionally. As the world 鈥 and our company 鈥 has evolved, we鈥檝e increased our commitment to cultivating a culture of holistic well-being. Ensuring our employees have the tools and support to put their well-being first is more important than ever, especially during the current global health crisis, protests and civil unrest over systemic injustice and police brutality. This year, instead of a monthlong celebration of global well-being, we鈥檙e extending our program over the course of the year for employees around the world.

With many of us working from home to adhere to shelter-in-place guidelines and processing the events of the past two weeks that have been heartbreaking to witness, our employees may be feeling disconnected or experience increased levels of stress. It鈥檚 important to acknowledge that people are dedicating time and energy to process current events on top of maintaining a household that is suddenly together all the time. These sudden changes can negatively impact our physical and emotional health. Through our global employee network of more than 250 Well-Being Ambassadors and Well-Being Champions, we鈥檙e sharing tools and resources to strengthen our connection to employees and their families 鈥 from informational webinars about having difficult conversations during a time of unrest, to virtual bootcamp fitness classes, ideas for 30 days of self-care and more.

Building a culture of well-being has been a labor of love. For more than a decade, we鈥檝e supported employee well-being through the Wellness at 91影视 program in the U.S. In 2018, we expanded our well-being program globally and kicked off 鈥淕lobal Well-Being Week鈥 which focused on helping employees understand the importance of well-being for their personal and professional success and its alignment with our one of our core values: safeguard. As part of this effort, we introduced the five pillars of well-being (physical, emotional, financial, social and the planet) and launched WellBeingat91影视.com, which gives employees easy access to resources, tools and action plans to help them prioritize well-being in all areas of their lives.

It鈥檚 been exciting to watch the program evolve. In 2019, we expanded to a 鈥淕lobal Well-Being Month鈥 in June and saw a 200 percent increase in the number of countries hosting well-being events and activities, with more than 140,000 touchpoints (e.g. resources accessed, page views, event participation, downloads, posts and more). A surge of employees reported that they felt their well-being was supported by their managers. We鈥檝e gone from a week to a month and now we are building on our culture even further with a year-round program.

Our efforts over the years have earned us a number of honors, including a by the National Business Group on Health, and Silver Stevie Awards and an APEX . As a leader at 91影视, I鈥檓 proud of the work we鈥檝e put into advancing this program, and that our focus on well-being is recognized 鈥 but we鈥檙e ecstatic to see our employees and their families make it a success and embrace our culture of holistic well-being around the world.

People are at the heart of our business and mission. After all, it鈥檚 our people that enable us to deliver the unmatched engineering, design, construction, management and government services solutions for which we are known and admired. That鈥檚 why we commit significant time, energy and resources to helping all employees achieve well-being in every area of their lives.

Research shows that employee well-being drives business success. In survey, 61 percent of respondents said that employee well-being improves productivity and bottom-line business results. Other studies show employee well-being positively impacts recruiting and retention, safety and absenteeism. While business results are important, there鈥檚 more to the story. Employees not only feel better at work, they have more to give outside of work 鈥 to family, friends and their communities. It鈥檚 a winning proposition all the way around.

We define well-being through five pillars 鈥 physical, financial, emotional, social and planet 鈥 demonstrating that well-being goes beyond staying physically fit and emotionally healthy to making sound financial decisions, becoming involved in your community and taking care of our planet.

Last year, we held our first Global Well-Being Week to bring focus to all aspects of well-being for our employees around the world. It was a big success, and to build on that, we will soon launch Global Well-Being Month.

This June, at nearly 100 91影视 locations in 25 countries, our employees will participate in onsite and digital activities, such as webinars, and onsite events, including healthy potluck lunches and electronics recycling drives. Employees will also have the opportunity to join a global well-being challenge. And, they can use social media to share their well-being actions with colleagues around the world using the hashtag #MyMomentToBeWell.

Our focus on well-being benefits employees, their families, our communities, our company, partners and clients. It helps us bring our best to everything we do, personally and professionally. And it helps all of us at 91影视 fulfill our commitment to deliver a better world.
