BRT moves more people outside Montreal
Multiple busses travel down the reserved BRT lanes away from De Le Gapp Station in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The Rapibus project is a bus rapid transit system for the Société de Transport de l’Outaouais (STO). 91Ó°ÊÓ was hired to provide engineering, architectural, program, and construction services for the STO in expanding the 17km route at a cost of $195 million.
The Rapibus aims to speed up the service for commuters in growing sub-divisions outside of Montreal in the northern and eastern areas of the city by alleviating the congestion on key arteries currently served by bus-designated lanes.
