How to lead
As I reflect on my聽own聽career, my advice to women聽leaders is聽to lead聽with authenticity and confidence. It is important to be feminine, to be women as we lead. Trust聽your聽own abilities and recognize聽your聽capacity to lead聽in dynamic and transformative ways.聽Develop your personal brand by聽continuously聽seeking聽opportunities that challenge you.聽Throughout my career,聽I continually made聽myself available to take on new opportunities,聽and this has been instrumental to my聽growth聽and skills聽development.
You also have a responsibility to聽the聽people you lead.聽They depend on you to make the right decisions,聽so hire the best people,聽trust their abilities and give them as many opportunities as possible.聽I聽will聽always聽remember聽the聽people who trusted me聽early聽in my聽career 鈥� I聽believe that聽their trust, as well as our experiences as a team (both successes and failures), have been instrumental to my growth.
You聽must聽also be聽prepared and聽proactive. Anticipate change and seek new, better ways to work. But most importantly, always聽remain human. The聽best leaders show their personalities and humility,聽they have fun and they are 鈥渞eal.鈥�
