Our UK&I Early Careers Development Programme, ADVANCE is designed to attract and develop the best talent. We have more than 300 apprentices from numerous disciplines developing their technical and soft skills and working towards their professional accreditation, while studying at college or university.
Professional Qualifications
Professional accreditation is a key component of your development and also important for 91影视鈥檚 business success. 91影视 will support you towards accreditation with the relevant professional institute.
Our Engineering Apprentices mostly register with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), or the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT). At 91影视, you will be supported as you work towards your relevant qualification. This will most likely start with gaining either Engineering Technician (EngTech) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng)聽 status. All 91影视 Apprentices have the opportunity to work towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status should they aspire to do so.
Our Surveying & Project Management Apprentices register with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). You will complete your Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and work towards Chartered Surveyor or Project Manager status.
Our Transport Planning Apprentices register with the Transport Planning Professional (TPP).
Our Development Planning Apprentices mostly register with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), but may choose the TPP route. This will most likely start with gaining either Engineering Technician (EngTech) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng)聽 status. All 91影视 Apprentices have the opportunity to work towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status should they aspire to do so.
Studying
All of our Apprentices are supported through college and/or university. Typically, this is on a day release basis. Some courses are distance learning or block release and 91影视 will endeavour to accommodate these learning requirements where possible.
Funding
Where possible 91影视 Apprentices will be enrolled on government approved Apprenticeship levy funded courses. Where Government funding isn鈥檛 available, 91影视 will financially support Apprentices on the appropriate course.
The ADVANCE Programme
鈥楢DVANCE鈥� is a 2.5 year blended learning programme promoting collaboration across all 91影视 End Markets, ensuring that our apprentices network with and learn from other apprentices across the UKI business.
- Induction to introduce you to 91影视 and some of our senior leaders, and to give you a detailed overview of the 91影视 business and 鈥楢DVANCE鈥�
- An Outward Bound week to develop some core behavioural competencies
- Training events to develop your skills & knowledge around project delivery, managing yourself, presentation skills, and work winning
- Supplemented by online learning, and on-the-job technical development
- Support towards the relevant professional qualification as detailed above
- We also encourage all our apprentices to become STEM Ambassadors and to make use of the 2 paid CSR days 91影视 provides each year
